General Questions
What does "self-healing" mean?
Self-healing means the flexible surface material of the mat closes itself after a cut is made. No self-healing mat can close a cut mark completely, they just lessen surface scarring to remain smoother over time.
Can the mats be used on both sides?
Yes – one side has the measurement guides and the other is blank – a perfect work surface!
How transparent are your Crystal Clear mats?
These mats have a very low opacity for a clear view of your work underneath.
Can I roll up my cutting mat for storage?
We recommend you store your mats flat, however, you can roll the 18" x 24" mats and larger if you wish. Keep in mind, because of the 5-ply construction, you may need to re-flatten the mat each time you need to use it. See the instructions, below.
What forms of measurements are on the mats?
Dahle Vantage® mats include a full ½" grid, inch rulers along two sides, two 45° and one 60° angle guides.
Can I use Dahle vantage mats to cut fabric?
Yes – the mats are ideal for rotary trimming.
Can you use these mats for ironing?
No – the mats are not heat resistant.
What is Prop 65?
The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by its original name of Proposition 65, requires businesses to provide warnings to California residents about exposures to chemicals that may cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
All products sold in California must include this warning if they contain any one of the many chemicals stated in the law. Since our Vantage® mats are made from recycled materials, they are required to have the Prop 65 warning.
